Chris,
I'd invest in a dedicated halogen flasher, like the one below. That way, you could also hook up the T/A and have those patterns tied in with the red/blues, have a few selectable patterns, or have control over the T/A, etc. It certainly can be done cheaper with regular automotive flashers (available at any parts store). http://www.sirennet.com/whuhf64.html
