I think most know it is not a true GSP car and just do not bother. Mike asked....and with the lack of response I would say the owner knows the true story... by this point at least. For what he is willing to sell it to a member I do not think the price is too far off. Regular coupes today in solid condition can bring $4-5k easily. The new owner can consider it is a bonus for it to be an SSP and maybe that will spark the research for the correct history on the car.

I don't think so, at least not judging by the amount of "great find", "nice car", and other congratulatory comments.

Bottom line is that the car is being advertised as something that it isn't over there and on eBay, and Mike P. is the only one attempting to point it out.

Again, kudos to Mike.

My only purpose was to provide the owner with an opportunity to articulate what kind of documentation he has or does not have. It is what it is and if someone has an interest in the actual agency that appears to have used it then that would be great. However, he is using as his "fastball" to sell the car that it was a GSP SSP and that is furthered by all the photos with GSP emblem magnets pasted on the car (and listing an in-service GSP SSP photo in his ad). If it in fact was they let's put the facts out there and put that open question to rest. If it isn't than we need to get those facts out there and on the record. If it is then the same thing goes.

I think for those of us in the the hobby...we need to look out for each other and not assume that everyone has picked up on the situation that is going on. The beauty of this relatively small group of SSP enthusiasts is that we do try and look out for each other. If we don't, who will?

The comment by the Seller after his last eBay ad (I've posted it above) has such a level irony in it that is really just too much . It just goes to show that he is not part of the "we" when it comes to looking out for each other in the hobby. If he can't answer basic questions about his car we shouldn't further his effort to sell it.

If these posts keep someone from making a (possible) mistake than it has been worth it. We will have then looked out for each other and maybe they can focus on buying an SSP from one of the productive members of the SSP enthusiast family.
