Antenna length is determined by the frequency used to transmit. The CHP whip was used for their low-band communications which are in the 42 Mhz range (see calculator in my earlier post).
Bill - My 66" whip fits into the clip, which is installed in the original holes left on my car, like a glove. Note that the clip bracket on my car is not quite prototypical. The original has much sharper bends in it to fit the door channel profile. Mike - yes, go ahead and use those data sheets on the site. Let me know if you can't download the original images and I'll email them to you. You can have anything else you find in that album for the site as well.

If you are buying a sheet, and would be willing to copy one for others needing them, I'd be happy to send you my original.  I need the correct bracket as well.

Thanks Mike! I sent you my address via PM. I ordered a 12x12" sheet of the 3/8" material, and will cut them out once I have yours in-hand to take measurements from. I will fabricate the base as close as possible to what will cleanly fit the contours of the channel.
So that's one for me and one for you. I'm sure Andy will want one, as well as Rich (CHP8336). Not sure if Marcos needs one or not. I should be able to get that many cut out of a sheet, if not more, but I'll make as many as I can.

HOLY SMOKES!
I just rec'd confirmation that my order for the phenolic sheet has already shipped - WOW! That's fast. The price listed on their website is out of date. The 12x12" sheet ended up costing:
$43.50 material $ 9.22 handling  $ 8.99 UPS shipping ------- $61.71 TOTAL Let's hope it doesn't bust apart once I start cutting and drilling!
