Mike,

I didn't pick the car apart....but I did say that the equipment is incorrect.

The statement above is totally incorrect. Guys have been looking, some for years, for the correct switchbox, as an example, for the FHP cars. You might have all the money in the world to buy one of them, but the challenge is to actually find one that's in usable shape.

Mike,

My babble was not directed at you or anyone else in particular at all. Just my observation from quite of few hours of reading posts on both boards.

After all, that's what these boards are all about, helping each other and stating our opinions!

I agree...I was in a hurry and cut short what I was going to write, so I'm sorry if it came across the wrong way.

I think that if the car had the correct, sometimes impossible to find equipment, it'd be worth a premium over a car that was not equipped in the same way.

I do agree that the money it takes to restore one can far outweigh the actual "value" of the car. I look at these cars as a piece of history, similar to your reference to cars with racing heritage, and thus deserving of restorations, despite the financial part of things.

My .02.

Mike,

I truly believe that time will "fix" the financial part of SSP restoration. I personally think SSP cars are cheap and have lots of room for appreciation if that is of any interest to owners. 2 years from now we will all be talking about the good ole days in "08" when SSP cars and especially parts, were really cheap!

Ok even if you removed all the equipment I still think that car may be worth the 13k if the body paint and mechanicals are 100% like it seems to be.

Well, somebody buy it and then we'll all find out.

No one will buy it in Conn. unless it is a lot less or he certifies safety and emissions as a condition of sale. In other states you may not need safety and emissions so it would be easier to sell out of state. Here that car would be a lawn ornament. When someone asks you "Will it pass these tests for Conn?" and the answer is "It Should" you are not credible. I would have been happy to buy the car if the seller had given me a straight answer.Cisco
