I guess I'm just getting too old for today's technology. That's just alotta $$$ to spend on a car over the internet. I'm not saying the car is, or isn't, worth it, but I'd certainly want to see the car in person before coughing up that kinda money.
It's an interesting car for sure, with a known history. But in my opinion "most desirable" is a subjective phrase. I think the most desirable SSP truly varies by person. Each enthusiast has their favorite SSP. It could be one they saw (or drove) when they were in-service. Or it could be a certain agency that has the coolest paint scheme (cough**Nevada**cough). Or any other factors. Regardless, I hope this EVOC finds a good home...

I would say it's worth that, $21,500 for a car with a unique history or $25k for a 9k mile car that really can't be driven. The miles seem to be the only real selling point on those others for sale over $20k. With the rarity of EVOC vehicles used, I would say price is right in line. JMHO......

It's a very unique and well documented SSP and for sure is in the same league as the best of any of the restored CHP Mustangs. Wish I had the money to buy it from Charles Ricks, the original purchaser from the CHP, when he offered it to me in 2002. I've always felt it should have been very sympathetically (minimally) restored to have preserved its originality and that's what I would have done with it. But it's still a very nice car today and could be an outstanding one once some final details are finished.

I think it all comes down to personal preference.
Some like to bring up "service history" and that means different things to different people. This was a training car, which for me, doesn't mean as much as one that was used for actual enforcement. Plus, I've been fortunate enough to see what gets done to these types of cars during "training". The videos of this car that are out there paint a small picture, but you get the idea. My '83 CSP car is not the best looking car to some people (4-eyed, huge lightbar, awful wheelcovers on it in the pics). I like it because there aren't a ton of '83s out there, it's still very original, and it has a great service history (including, unfortunately, involvement in an on-duty shooting death). I say buy what makes you happy and pay whatever you think is fair. I, too, hope this one finds a good (long term) home.

I had a 1970 Chevelle SS396 4 speed that I sold 16 years ago that is worth about 50k now. Doesn't matter where it's from, who drove it, etc. The SSP Mustang is what it is. Like Mike said, if service history or the fact that it was the first or last floats your boat then more power to you, it's just not going to mean the same to everyone else. I bought my 2 SSP's because I liked them and thought they were cool.

I have alot of the same thoughts as what Mike M. has articulated above. It's a cool SSP in my book.

I have seen it in person several times since the current seller has owned it. From what others have sold for in the last year I would say it is worth very close to the asking price. It is a well documented SSP that had an interesting service life. If I had the money it would be here with me...as would my collection of one from every state agency. If I am going to dream, I am going to dream big!

While the history of the car is not particularly interesting to me I hope it sells. It needs a good home.
