I too saw the sale. Couldn't believe it. Just goes to show what can happen when the right fish comes along when you have something for sale. Wish someone would knock on my door and offer me 100K for my car.

I think the fact that they serve a lot of alcohol at these events helps explain the bidding frenzy.

I think you may have hit the nail on the head. A fool and their money are soon parted especially when alcohol is flowing.

Bargain of the day...$100K = New owner of my 2 SSP's. Surely that is a steal versus $100K for one Barney Fife Clone Ford Galaxie. Oh wait, mine doesn't have a Don Knotts autograph. Maybe if I get Don's friend Tim Conway to sign mine it will be worth alot more. I hope he's still alive. Well worst case I'm sure Carroll Shelby will sign mine if I pay him $700 Postage Paid sending Glove Boxes from my 2 SSP's. That definately ought to make my deal a bargain!
