Tape Stripe Decoding?

That's great, thanks Mick...should have figured you'd come through. Now a quick follow-up....anyone know how one goes about obtaining replacement stripes that match the correct / original color. Do Mustang after market shops sell those? Sorry for the questions, I haven't delved very far at this point, just figured someone has already gone down this path. Looks like from the in-service pics and the door tag on the 1990 MSHP SSP, it had the tape stripe. From the pics I have, doesn't appear to currently have on it, so thinking that would be something to evolve going forward. Thanks!

The stripes were painted on at the factory.

Ok thanks that's helpful. Any way to figure out what a color code is for that, which could be used by a shop to replicate?

Could be, although, my instinct says the color on the car in the attached 2 links below is lighter than the sample shown for that 1990 Medium Blue. Could just be the bad picture quality, though. It does indicate stripe color, though, but would almost need to see the color in person, I think.

Stripe color on the car does seem lighter than the sample shown at paintref. Maybe the paintref sample is off? Maybe that is not the right code at paintref?

All I know for sure is the Ford dealer literature does call the paint stripe "Medium Blue".

So the Marti Report I ordered, which is now in the VIN project with this car doesn't indicate the tape stripe with the door tag decoding. But the pics, and the actual door tag on the car reflect the tape stripe. I guess this is one more item on the list of sometimes the Marti Report is not always 100% complete/accurate, like some of the tire sizes we noticed in some of the early SSP Marti Reports people ordered.
