The agency logo and uniform patch says "North Carolina Highway Patrol" (no "State") but a Trooper's badge and the official website says "North Carolina State Highway Patrol", so I could go either way on it.

I guess you could say they have a "split personality" . Check out the display sign they use when showing their still owned 1993 SSP Mustang.
