Cars restored to perfectly just look like clones that have never actually seen service. IMO.
I've been chided in the past by a few uninformed types (and some that should know better) about having "unrestored" equipment (e.g., deck lights and control heads with chips and scratches) mounted in my otherwise fairly pristine car. I've told them the pretty part of the car is just slow in also obtaining the proper and correct patina of an in-service unit. They almost don't believe me when I then inform them that the CHP actually recycles used equipment into their brand new cars going into service.
