Jack and I met up in Mount Pleasant, SC for the weekly Charleston Cars and Coffee. They have about 80 cars each week, and it is a diverse assortment of cars that show up. You can still see the morning fog in the background. Jack said that he pulled in with his white 94 Cobra at the same time as the black Cobra, but the owner didn't give him the time of day. Most other folks with were VERY chatty and pleasant though. I got to talk for a while with the President of the local MCA club, the Lowcountry Mustangs. I even somehow talked Debbie into getting up early and going with me to the show. It was a GREAT way to spend our morning!

Nice! I'm doing way more "cars & coffee" events rather than full on car shows these days. SO much easier/more relaxing and just as much fun.

28HopUp 10-31-2016 11:35 PM

I tend to agree. Here are some photos posted online from the Cars & Coffee _

https://m.flickr.com/#/photos/141355...4506311/page1/

No direct shots of my SSP, but it's there if you look hard enough. :)

The listings for SSP Mustangs sure have dried up lately. I usually do a national search every few days for "SSP Mustang", which usually brings up the latest CL and ebay listings (usually the Matchbox cars on ebay). I thought the website I had been using was coming up lame, but other search engines yielded the same results. I guess it's just a dry patch for listing cars for sale. :headscratch:

Typically the worst time of year to sale a car... Flip side is I've found it is also the best time of year to buy (with Christmas just around the corner):2thumbs:

Thanks guys. This is Mike Patterson's old car. We finished up the equipment install, based on his resto doc, and hard marked it.

Now celebrating 53 years...

kapracing 04-25-2017 07:38 AM

Ordered 5 deluxe Marti reports.. Two for 2 of my 68 Fastback's; one for the 83 GSP; one for the 88 GSP wrecked in service and one for the 92 LoJack GSP... I will post them up once received. I also ordered door stickers as well...
I saw on the site that they offer replacement window stickers as well for 82-86 Mustangs... Has anyone ordered one of these? I'm strongly considering ordering one for the 83...

FoxChassis 04-25-2017 08:34 AM

I don't have a repro window sticker but I have the Marti repros and they are nicely done.

That's very cool. I wonder if they are planning to expand to other years as well?

I agree. Those colors and markings are going to make that car very easy on the eyes (and the camera lens). I see a magazine feature at some point.

MOstang 05-04-2017 07:22 PM

Ooohhh...nice!

'90 FBI SSP getting close. This car had extensive hail damage when we got it.

ImEvil1 05-23-2017 12:06 PM

Looks good. What is the story on that one?

Here is how it looked when we first got it.

I'm still trying to confirm the ownership, but I believe David P. (from .org) owned this car at some point. This is the only Light Titanium '90 SSP I have seen.

http://www.specialservicemustang.net...info191668.htm

With regard to David's car, I have the for sale listing from July 2005 where the seller stated they purchased it at the government auction in VA. This is who David purchased it from. At that time, it was located in Orlando, FL. It was then sold on eBay in November 2005, then resold on .org in March 2008. Here is the for sale link from 2012 where we purchased it out of Knoxville, TN.

Did panels have to be replaced or where you able to repair them?

ImEvil1 05-23-2017 04:02 PM

Glad it's in good hands now....

We replaced the hood, trunk lid, and roof skin. Everything else was repaired.

VIN Decoder online at .NET

I really like the VIN Decoder linked on the right side of the main page -

http://www.specialservicemustang.net...oder/index.php

Thanks Mick for putting that together for us! :)

FoxChassis 05-31-2017 11:47 AM

Not sure how many people have seen that. :)

28HopUp 05-31-2017 12:44 PM

That's why I commented. I plugged one in today for sh*ts & g*ggles. ;)

FoxChassis 05-31-2017 12:49 PM

Now If I could make the buck tag decoder's output look as nice I'd upload the code files for Mike to add that feature. ;)

Looks great! What's the story behind the 79 Pace Car in the third photo (mileage, options, etc.)?

That car has a good story. We lived in Tampa, FL for a number of years and were active members of a local Mustang club. Our club was contacted by a local Meals-on-Wheels and explained that someone had donated a Mustang to their organization, but they didn't feel it was suitable to make deliveries in. They asked if they could auction it off at our annual show. Without knowing anything other than it was a Mustang, the club agreed. We learned it was a '79 Pace Car on the day of the show when they arrived. It was expressed they may be able to get $1,000 for it. The high bid on the car was $550. My father and I felt obligated to get them to the $1,000 they had in mind, so we bought it for $1,000.

It is an original 302-2bbl, 4-speed. The car was rough, but everything was there, except the metric TRX wheels. Here are some before and after pictures.

Jonathon, I have a Pace Car 'registry' online @ http://foxchassis.com/fep/registry/pc If your PC is not listed I would like to add it. I collect VIN, door tag, buck tag, build sheet, window sticker, etc., and also mileage and options. Options list is @ http://foxchassis.com/fep/registry/pc/options Thanks.
