Default Rear Brake Question - 93 SSP

Hello,

Wanted to float a question out for some feedback just to make sure that I'm headed down the correct path.

Am I correct that 93 Mustangs brakes in stock form had rear "drum" brakes as opposed to "disc"?

I had my 93 Missouri State Highway Patrol SSP 5 speed in the shop to have the heater core replaced and parking brake taken a look at as it was no longer holding the car when parked on an incline. Evidently the cable needs to be replaced on the parking brake, but they weren't able to find one from their aftermarket suppliers (supposedly the part is obsolete now).

Looking myself on-line it took me till about the 5th suppliers catalog that I looked, but Year One has the cable available for both 93's with "drum" brakes and 93's with "disc" brakes. My brakes are stock and I'm pretty sure it's the "drum" ones I need, but just wanted to solicit some input before ordering.

Thanks for your feedback.

Thanks for all your feedback. Just to be sure I'm understanding correctly...93 SVT Cobra had disc and all other 93's had drum brakes in rear? Thanks again.

Correct. The only factory fox bodies to come equiped with rear disc were the '93 Cobra and the '84-86 SVO's.
