Nice pic, it looks to be an 87 from the lack of the 5.0 badges. Wish I could read the front plate.

Do you know the story on the missing 5.0 badges Jack? I have a nice photo of an '87 w/o them and always wondered if it was so for just that unit.

Mike,

A few years ago Jim sent me some paperwork for the 1987 pilot model inspection. There is some mention of the emblems being removed and that block is checked "yes". It also says something about emblems being shipped without the car. Another form mentions leaving the lx emblem off the deck lid but it doesn't specifically mention the 5.0 emblems. I have several pictures of verified 1987's and they are all missing the 5.0 emblems.

Very interesting, a mixup of some kind it seems in either the ordering or at the factory. Here's another '87 shot w/o emblems:



I wonder what the story is on this '89 with them missing also:

I know my 89 is from a different agency(NHP) but it doesn't have badging either. I have wondered about this since I bought it.
