Default EVOC Camaro

I was talking to Robert at California Highway Patrol (CHP) Motor Transport (MT) today. He said they have one of the late model EVOC Camaro's with a roll cage from the academy at MT that was severely wrecked in the front end by an instructor at the academy. I asked him what they were going to do with the car and he said that he has inquired about buying the car as it is now however the car is scheduled to be crushed as the CHP and MT policy will no longer allow the sale of "modified" cars to the public. An example of a modified car is an EVOC car with a rollcage.

Robert tells me the same thing that others have in CHP have told me which is that the 92 EVOC Mustang I have may truly be the last modified high speed track CHP EVOC car that will ever be sold to the public.

Sure would hate to see the Camaro crushed!!!!

Yep, they are supposedly going to scrap all of the Evoc Camaro's. I tried like hell when Bo was MT to sell one without a title for a pure race car. No luck, plus he doesnt work there anymore! Damn.

I thought I heard that they would only be scrapped OR sold to another LE agency. If so, there's always a chance one might eventually escape into private hands once the second users are through with it (but lord only knows how beat up it would be at that point!).

I doubt it. Robert works for Motor Transport where the car is located. He actually outfits and decomissions patrol cars and they will not sell it to him according to what he says.

I coulda swore this was one of the conditions of that final sale of camaros to the CHP. That they would be scrapped at the EOL. I could be wrong but seems like I remember hearing something like that when the story broke. Anyone have a link to the original story? I know we talked about it on .org before.
