That is correct, I have a HO EFI engine in a parts car and going to swap it back, luckily they never cut any of the wiring harness and left the ECU in it.

Congrats and thanks for posting the Buck Tags above. What you've described on the antenna setup sounds right. The NCSHP did not put holes in the dash as the NC Dept of Corrections custom made the radio stand. However, you might notice some parts of the dash that are flattened from that stand.

We don't have (yet anyway) interior in-service pics of one your model year, however, the link below is of a 1989 NCSHP unmarked SSP. The setup your car had may have been similar if not identifcal.

The following link are pics I took earlier this year of the 1993 NCSHP SSP sill owned by the NCSHP...same equipment setup as car pictured above.

I went out and looked again, but I can't find any evidence that this car had any of that stuff. I'm positive that the interior hasn't been changed because it has been wrecked, and the rear end is bent. I'm pretty sure it was taken out of service because of this, as it only has 73k miles. These are a few things that have confused me about this car. And thanks a lot for the responses.

I have photos from 1992 at the Greensboro NCSHP office...in 35mm (see attached). One day I will get them scanned. They were upfitting a marked silver and black coupe with red interior that had just had it's rear deck lights installed and I think the seat was still out. In the background was a gray unmarked '89 (I think), auto, gray interior, silver 10-holes, total stealth unit. It had been taken out of service and was ready for auction. They let me walk out and look at it, but the only picture I have is from a distance. Sorry. I just know they ran both, marked and unmarked units. First SSP I ever saw was a marked NCSHP on the east side of Black Mountain. The same trip these photos were taken, I believe. Top left photo in the album was a Greensboro Traffic Unit SSP.

Sorry for the crummy photos from my Blackberry, I just don't have a scanner right now.

Good luck with the resto.

Greg

Nice photos MOstang. Love those NC cars. Some of my favorite.

I don't remember any dash scars in the gray SSP I saw. Too many years ago.

I love how the rear deck lights had those flip up covers on them.

Even with how rough mine is, I'm glad I bought it. The one good thing about it is that its a rust free car, and the body damage is just on the drivers quarter panel, which isn't too bad of a fix. The main thing is just getting around to working on it.

Greg - Cool photos! We need to get you near a scanner. Would love to see those more up close. I don't recall seeing a Greensboro SSP photo before. Nice!

I have several more photos of that Greensboro SSP. I just happened to be there when it pulled up. A tall blonde officer got out and walked into a tanning salon. I about passed out...SSP, blonde female officer. I waited and waited for her to walk out and finally walked in to ask permission to take some photos of the car. She said OK and that she would be out in a minute. She took forever, so I just snapped photos of the exterior and finally left. Windows were up, so the glare messed up the photos of the interior (I don't even have them in this album, but I remember there was a switch plate made for the ashtray area, so that door had been removed). Greensboro did not run A-pillar spotlights on any of the cars back then that I saw.

I don't mean to hijack this post, so this will be the last photos I post in here.

Scanners are cheap now, but I've got enough printers. Geez, the only scanner you can find in the stores is an all-in-one, scanner/copier/printer and sometimes fax. Maybe I'll get one this weekend while out on errands.

Thanks again Greg.

Ryan - I've done TONS of research and documented all of that for the NCSHP SSP's so let me know how I can help. PM me your email address and we can get in touch that way if it would be of help.

Like I said, the thing I was most curious about was the color. I've only seen one documented that was white, so I wasn't sure how rare a white one was. Thank you everyone for the responses
