Thank you! The Ranger goes in for LineX tomorrow, which will be applied to the bed (under the lip), the tailgate, the bed-mount spare tire holder, seat frame (think Subaru Brat), and speaker boxes for the bed. I will post up the photos once it is all put together.

I'm just curious. Now that the Gatorbacks are being reproduced, it is possible (albeit expensive) to have a full set of five new tires for an SSP (including the spare). My question is this - Since the Gatorback is a directional tire, which way does the spare get mounted? I would guess the passenger side since road debris is more likely to be towards the side of the road. How did Ford mount the Gatorback on the spare wheels?

I haven't found an original '85-'86 spare in any of mine. I don't think it makes much of a difference unless it's raining, though.

you can drive them for short periods regardless of rotation (per the Michigan State Police 1989 "Ford Mustang Pursuit Vehicle Introduction" video.

Would the MCA have any guidelines on this question? Granted, SSP cars were the only Mustangs (to my knowledge) to come with a full-size spare, but I wonder if they have considered this when they judge the cars? I'm not looking to restore my SSP to high MCA judging standards (I want to improve my SSP, not make it a trailer queen), but I would like to get the little details right when I have the ability to do so.
