Default 1992 FHP radio questions

I saw this radio on a restoration pdf from the other website....http://www.ebay.com/itm/400472981712...84.m1497.l2649

But it said that they mostly used the Micor with this type scanner head? Am I reading that right?

Then I've seen this radio in other resto's....http://www.ebay.com/itm/Motorola-AST...item5d3dca5460

Just trying to collect the correct stuff....so all help is greatly appreciated!

Check out the resto section here (scroll down to the "Radios" section):

http://www.specialservicemustang.net/FHP2.htm

There's also a section on the 800MHz radios and a way to check to see if your car had one based on when and where it was in service.

Default built radios today.

another rainy day here so I worked on the radios for the 1983, 1987, and 1993 FHP cars. First pic here is of the two single tier Micors for the 83 and 87 cars. I have in service pics of my 87 showing the single tier and I have an inservice pic of an 83 with a single tier mounted under the dash so that is the direction i am going. I have a butt load of old Micor stuff including some NOS cabinets so I put these together today.

For the 1993 unmarked car I used a double tier setup. The double tier radio puts the pancake light at just the right height. This car was equipped with both the spectra and the Micor and using the existing holes in the car this is how it will end up. I have to clean up the wiring and put power to everything but it is just about complete.
