Default Damage control isn't necessary

Mike Riley sent out a zinger this morning. I guess I will respond here.

Dear Mike,

In case you havn't noticed, David and I have made our peace. Things were/are looking better, with past negative postings removed (here), and so on. If you want to continue being aggressive and bitter so be it. Nobody else, including your own mods are interested in assisting you with stirring up any more crap. I think it's obvious to everyone what the issues of five years were and that is why we are not discussing them. The video comment has been edited to remove any reference to a specific website, but the video still shows what some consider look-at-me behavior that does not reflect positively on OUR hobby. Most of us have accepted responsibility for our actions. I think you should do the same, but we won't hold our breath. I told you years ago what you were about to do. You made the bed, I helped mess it up, we plan on fixing it, with or without your help.

anyway.....have a pleasant evening.

regards
Jim

PS.....

David,

I am not going to let his comments change my mind about what we need to do to make this hobby more enjoyable. It isn't worth the energy.

David,

I missed your Sunday edit, and I just saw the update today. I accept your apology, and thank you for the clarification about the PMs reference Jim's issue.

We can and will agree to disagree on some issues. We've been ready to move forward on this for quite some time, which was also written elsewhere on here years ago. I think that everyone is wanting this put to bed, so this is definitely a step in the right direction.

To everyone else:

I personally want to thank every single one of you for the way you've acted on this forum this past week. Those that sent PMs or called, while not necessary, were very welcome. There really is no need, even when attacked, to further the situation in a negative way, and many of you did what I wasn't able to years ago; ignore it.

You guys make this the place that it is....and it is greatly appreciated.

Default Geezer's Perspective

I have been on the sites since Patton was a Private. I know many many of the members, moderators and the two Web Masters personally. I've lived it all - the good and the bad. Recent events were not the finest hour for either site.

I am greatly encouraged by the latest statements from both sites advocating that we all strive for our best. I truly know the courage it has taken by parties from both sites, with deep wounds, to step forward and make apologies and consessions in a genuine effort for the best this Hobby can be.

You have my utmost respect and thanks for your efforts to move beyond the past and for your pledge of continued action for a great future.
