I went back to the list in post #158 and added your car.

Sam, give me a list of cars ascending by year (include the year too), and be sure to provide all 6 digits of the unit numbers. I will be happy to ask...

Hello Gents!

I spoke with Robert this morning, and he is still willing to search for the cards. However, he was taken slightly aback when I told him how many were on my list. We both agreed that it would be better for me to email him my list, which I did this morning. I broke the list down into three groups:
  • Group #1 - new requests
  • Group #2 - two specific cars that have the FAX-only copies from 2007, with a special notation asking him to search through the box(es) since the cards were most likely misfiled.
  • Group #3 - I listed this one as optional for Robert, because it's a biggie. I asked for all of the Mustang cards in the range of 408303 - 408445. These are the 1985 SSP Mustangs (+/-), which I would like to document in our VIN Project. Since I do not own those vehicles obviously, I offered to return those cards once they are scanned.

So be patient, keep your fingers crossed, and stay positive.

Maybe it's a good thing I didn't add another 20+ cars to the list

Bill, if you get the cards for all the 85s, I would suggest trying to hold onto them. That way they won't get thrown out and new owners are out of luck on getting an actual card.
They will be thrown out just like the 70s stuff and quite a bit of the 80s stuff.

Unhappy This is not good news

I just received a message from one of our members that:

"The assignment cards are unavailable from our regular source at this time."

This is a set-back for our hobby, but all is not lost. We will stay on it and keep everyone informed if anything changes.
