Default Need VIN info for FHP SSP

I'ved been reading many posts on this site and was wondering if anyone can help me with decoding my friends FHP SSP: the VIN is:1FAPB40E9PF134319, DSO# 0115. I'm intrested in purchasing it and was hoping someone can help me identify this vehicle and some history. Thank's and regards from Puerto Rico.

Are there any documents, labels, tags, etc. available that support it being an FHP? That VIN is within a batch of 32 consecutive P40E (coupe 5.0L) VINs but this is the first one of those 32 that I have seen with a special order DSO. Maybe other people know of of have seen documentation on others? What are the first two digits of that DSO? __0115 Are there bucks tags available fro this car? Is there a door tag available for this car?

1FA = Ford vehicle manufactured in USA
C = manual seatbelts, driver-side airbag
P = passenger cap
40 = LX coupe
E = 5.0L engine
9 = VIN check digit
P = 1993 model year
F = Dearborn Assembly (DAP)
134319 = 34,319th 1993 Mustang scheduled for production at DAP

DSO# 0115 = special order number 0115

Yeah.. i'm sorry, DSO 24 0115, i'll try and get the info off the buck tags from the front support. I'ts got no documentation with it but it surely has the reinforced seat pan, the door tags, buck tags, speedo, one key lock set, drivers side trunk release button. i'm really interested in gathering info on this SSP and making a decent offer. The car does need work but i'm willing to put time and money into it. I already own a 1993, 5.0, Coral Reef Blue with black interior Coupe, 5spd so it would be a long term project to have and restore. Thanks for your help on this matter.

Default 1993 FHP...

I made the guy an offer and he is willing to sell it. I took a closer look and it also has the hole on the drivers side front window frame where the spot light would have been, the roof has a (covered) hole where the antenna would be. I also observed the cream paint under a layer of black at the rear corner panels, rear window frame and the trunk seem. Front tag information was difficult to take since the vehicle was inside a closed drive way (flashlight died on me). How can i find out where the car served or what unit/car number was it. Thanks again.

Melvin,

I checked everything that I have, and found a couple that were a few VINs away from yours, but nothing on that particular car.

Is this bad? or can I go ahead and purchase the car? I really want a SSP specially a FHP, but it would be nice to be able to gather more info related to it. I'm well convinced of it's authenticity, all markings are there and so on, so what do you guys think? Does it matter if it has documentation or not. Thanks again for your help...

From your description and what ImEvil1 has posted, it is quite likely a '93 FHP. If possible, can you check what the buck tags say? I have seen at least one FHP car that said "DSO POLICE", but the others typically say "FLORIDA". That would tell you for sure. In terms of documentation, some agencies make it easier to research SSP's than others. But that's all part of the charm of these cars! Good luck on your pending purchase!

Thumbs up

Thanks for the info... I will get the information from the tags and update my post. Again thanks for all your help. I will post some pics as soon as I purchase the car. Have a great day.

It's definitely an FHP...finding the unit number or other documentation is another story, though.

Just got off the phone with the seller, the buck tag reads DSO FLORIDA, PAINT ROOF AND DECK CREAM W1677 REMAINDER BLACK UA. The other tag reads: LX2 0274 E2, 13431, AC G6, MBW, SK PF0208, 240115, 2 134319 5. See if that helps with everything, thanks.
