Elephant in the room?
I was curious why nobody commented about the recent requirement for members to log in so that they can view the forums. I'm confident there's a reason for it, but I hope that it won't be a permanent thing. I don't use cookies to remember my log in, btw

To keep out the flippers (IMO). It goes back to the survey from a couple weeks ago.

This isn't a problem for me. I selected the option way back to remember me so unless I hit the "Log Out" option every time I come into the site from my home computer it will put me right into the Forum without requiring username/password. If I try to enter the forum from a computer other than my home one I need to login and then I log out when I'm done. Maybe something you'll want to consider doing for the convenience.

Definitely not a permanent thing....temporary security fix for a few undesirables (including the Russian spammers). I'll have it switched back shortly.
