Default Replacement tires

Since Goodyear no longer makes a 225/60-15 in anything but a snow tire, I have been searching for a replacement set (driving on 24 year old Gatorbacks is a gamble). I just ordered a set of four BF Goodrich G-Force Sport 225/60-15VR tires for $80.75 each from onlinetires.com. Shipping was less than $60.00 for the set from CA to MN. Tirerack and Discount Tire (and all local dealers) could not come close to that price. These tires look to have a similar pattern to the Gatorback too. Anybody else run these tires?

That's exactly the tire I was looking for, Mike. Went to my local Discount Tire and they didn't have them in stock. Nor any in the metro Detroit area. NOR at the warehouse in Ohio. Guess you fount that out since you ordered yours. Discount Tire wants $105 each.

Oh, I still do not have any tires. I'll have to follow your lead and order them the same way you did, Mike.

I just went to the website to see costs. I need five tires. Yes, they are cheaper, $403.75 for five tires. My shipping cost would be $85.47, so now I'm up to $489.22. It would be $525 at Discount Tire, a $36 difference. If I ordered them, I still need to have them mounted & balanced, $74.95 at Discount Tire wether or not I got them from their store. Oh, I forgot that Discount Tire would then add tax, $32.

Totalsiscount Tire = $632.28
Online Tire = $564.17

Is it worth the difference of $68 for five tires? I think so.

When I do the Discount Tire Online store here, I get 525.48 without Tire Protection. Something is screwy. When I bought mine 2 years ago Discount came close to their online price. Talk to the Manager and see if he can work his magic with a few key strokes on the Key board. These tires are available. They just have to find the right Warehouse that has them.

I will be ordering a pair, as well. I found out this weekend why the front of my '93 has shimmied since I bought it. Both the front tires were breaking down and the belts separating. No wonder the front wheels were feeling like they were about to fall off. I was glad to see that a V rated tire is still available.

Does anybody have pictures of these tires on 10 holes?

The Hercules tires on that site are the closest thing to Gatorbacks I've ever seen.
