Help decoding
My '86s buck tag (the only one) so far.... looks like this. Any help on the rest?
mustang 231681 66B M 0100 DF ST SK AC 01 S MBW 01 D E1 01 1 X 1 4 the 231681 is the last six in the vin the 66B is for coupe the M is for 5.0L SEFI the DF: "D" scarlet red and the "F" cloth std the AC is for air conditioning I found the exterior paint code 1C for black and the DSO code 57 for Houston on the door tag.

This one was listed on ebay in February 2010.
I do not know yet what the "DF" code means but I can tell you that it is not for the seat color or material. It's just a coincidence that the INT. TRIM code on your VC Label (door tag) is "FD". MUSTANG = model line 231681 = 31,681st 1986 Mustang assigned a VI at Dearborn Assembly 66B = Mustang 2-door sedan M = 5.0L V8 engine 0100 DF ST SK AC = factory air conditioner 01 S = cruise control MBW = T-5 transmission 01 = hood w/o scoop D = Canyon Red interior EI = EFI 01 1 X 1 4 |

I answered my own question by looking at the Door Data section here, so please disregard. I didn't remember the special-paint cars having codes there, but the early ones do.
