Default SSP w/no buck tags..

What do you guys think about purchasing a SSP coupe that has all the right numbers and identifiers but no buck tags? Will this hurt the value on the long run? Thanks.

The first SSP I bought in 2008 did not have its 2nd buck tag. Since then, we have been able to confirm VIN ranges of many SSPs. In addition, we now can purchase Marti Reports which will confirm with 100% certainty how the car was optioned. So the Buck Tags can add value to a restoration, but they are not absolutely necessary to confirm a Mustang as a SSP.

That VIN is in a group of 50 consecutive cars that includes a FHP Mustang with DSO #24-0478 (one off from this one). I looked on the Florida DMV site...

...but that VIN did not return with a hit. The next VIN did show DMV history that included a police branded title. If you can get a look at the VIN label, see if it shows the FHP colors (W1677 and M1724), like this one:

It does have the serial number for the FHP paint code, what I did notice is that under the radio code in the vc label there is no letter nor number identifying the radio, was this one a radio delete or what?

Most years have a radio code, even units that were ordered with the "radio credit" (delete) option. (Code "Y" on the door tag.)

The only four years that I have seen no radio code on the door tag were 1982, 1983, 1987, and 1989. Some tags in those years, except 1982, had a radio code and some did not.

A 'no code' I believe means no radio but I'd have to look at a bunch of data to be more certain.

I searched a little trying to find out and had no luck, will be interesting to know. I don't mind not having a radio if it didn't have one installed originally, the sweet sound of flowmasters will do it for me. I'll have my hands full with the tan interior. Thank you for the info.
