you can mount it either way. It will not hurt the tire to drive it backwards.

Some SSP's have the spare tire encapsuled with the interior cover. For instance the GSP'swith their radio units and camera unit's screwed through the finish cover directly into trunk floor so there is no access to the spare ( I have however seen a couple that had a slit down the middle, but only on a few, most I have seen were not cut). With that being said the judges would not even have access to see the spare.

Bobby,

I have seen several, what I believe, early cars with original trunk cardboard (full-size). Is this what you are talking about?

Mike,
Not the boards, but the trunk mat ( the felt like cover)

Thanks for the input, gentlemen. I may not opt for the repro Gatorbacks on the PCSD car. Instead, I may buy a set of correctly-sized BFG Radial T/A tires. Then I'll take the difference in cost and get the wheels powdercoated satin black. I guess it all depends on how much work it will take by Bobby to get the paint where it needs to be. The car is loosely scheduled to be delivered to Bobby on Friday (8 days from when it was picked up!)

Is anyone taking advantage of Black Friday online sales to buy parts for their SSP? I need to get a few things myself for the PCSD car.

Thanks for working the streets! Not too many days left, right?

I ordered some parts today, in honor of it being Cyber Monday today. I bought some moldings and such for the PCSD car. Two shipments will be going directly to Bobby, and one will be routed through me first and end up at his body shop. I am excited about the prospect of how nice this car will be when Bobby is done with it! Once completed, there will be a roadtrip in my future with the F150 and a U-Haul trailer. Then I will turn my attention to some drivetrain/suspension issues, as well as getting new tires.
