Default 1987 chp front bumper holes?

I just recently bought a 87 chp mustang. I am now having it painted black. I noticed on the front passenger side front bumper it looks like someone drilled a bunch of holes in it. I was wondering if this is what California highway patrol did?? I was looking on this site and saw another chp that had the same exact holes.. Please help me with this because I was thinking of having them filled in if it wasnt done by chp. Thanks

This is a perfect situation where the VIN Project is useful. Take a look at the following page on a 92 CHP Mustang -

Do your holes look like the bottom picture of that 92? Based solely by your description, your holes were most likely made by the CHP for the siren. Here is a VIN Project page for a CHP car that is 4 digits away from the VIN you posted in an earlier thread -

Yep. 82-86 had a rectangular hole for the siren/PA speaker, then due to the curve of the 87-93 bumpers, holes were drilled instead of a large rectangle that would look hideous on the bumper.

Ok cool thanks. I'm going to just leave them then. They look exactly like the ones in the picture. I was just worried some racer did in for more "air flow"
Thanks for the help
