Default Was this intake piece on SSP's?

Was this piece standard on Mustang's and just got lost thru the years? This picture is from a stock 1987.

Ford quit putting them on all the 5.0 motors at some point. I've owned two '88s, an '89 and a '91 and none had that piece on it. Here is a pic from the 1991 sales brochure with that piece not showing:

Maybe it was just 86-87 and then they dropped it. Thanks.

86-87 only as far as I know.

For whatever it's worth, my 92 & 93 SSPs do not have it....& I don't remember seeing that in the 89 & 90 SSPs that I used to own.
