You got it!

I could almost bet money that it has stock plug wires and spark plugs. Nothing is out of place. The plug wire retainers are still attached to the valve cover bolts holding old yellowed motorcraft plugwires.

It appears to have the aircraft hoseclamps as well?? Nowhere can I find the Cheap wire type. The plugs were longer and thinner than the replacements but were gapped all wrong. After the quick run through, I was able to smoke the tires. If it was only an SSP. Sorry guys, I'll post up on 4EP or something.

Thanks for the help!!!

First year for EFI (CFI) was '84. Last year was '85. Went to SEFI in '86.

If you ordered an auto (AOD) in '84 or '85 you got CFI. If you ordered a manual (T5) in '84 or '85 you got a 4V carb.

Whatever VIN decoder you find online or in a book says the CFI engine code is "F" is incorrect. That code was last used in '83. All '84-'86 5.0L engines are code "M", whether they be 4V, CFI, or SEFI.

Thanks for the correction on 1984 being the first year that CFI was offered in the Mustang. I found the following on ORG -

They are showing an "F" for CFI in 1984 and 1985. So there is conflicting info out there...

Yes, conflicting info, and that list only adds to the misinformation.

Here are three ebay and one Autotrader '84 and '85 5.0L Mustangs with an "M" engine code and EFI/AOD:

'84 GT convertible w/ "M" EFI 5.0L and AOD
'84 G.T.350 hatch w/ "M" EFI 5.0L and AOD
'85 GT convertible w/ "M" EFI 5.0L and AOD
'85 GT convertible w/ "M" EFI 5.0L and AOD

Also, the 5.0L engine code in '87 was not "M", it was "E", just like every other non-SVT Cobra '88-'93 Mustang. From the Door Tag gallery on this 'site:

1987 Texas Department of Public Safety Door Data Sticker. DSO 57-0119. Matt Buckmaster photo

Notice the "E" engine code.
