show me your sign
Does anyone here have a complete and ready for show ...car show display sign that
was professionally made on a plastic board or other material? something that would stand up in front of or near the car.... something you could post a picture of here? something similar this but about the SSP Cars or your SSP? when the CHP/SSP Is complete and ready for the show's I think it is gonna need some explaining and i don't want to sound like a broken record. as a matter of fact I hate to stand around any of my cars at a car show. let's see your info board/reader board or what ever it's called I need Ideas? |

I usually put it on an easel but if its windy I put it in the engine compartment and hold it with the hood.

Nice sign, Bernie. I think you need to add another line at the bottom, though.

I had a DVD made for my last show. It's a 5 minute DVD with pictures and information about my car that cycles. The DVD runs continuously and starts over by itself. I bought a nice flat panel TV and hooked up a DVD player to it and ran it at the indoor show I did last month in Tyler, Texas at the Harvey Convention Center.
** I must say that I was surprised that no one seemed to pay any more attention to it than what I've seen with a regular sign. ** There were a few folks that watched the entire video thru and some even came back and watched it again. But for the most part, folks didn't seem as intrigued about it as I thought they would be. I thought it was a cool idea, though.

that you have put allot of time and effort into! one thing i have noticed is that people read the big print on these signs and not much more. |

Here's the one I made a couple of years ago and am still using (but need to update too!):
It's actually a small card (7" x 7") that I prop up inside the lower right windshield. I prefer to use something like this because I think bigger signs detract from a display, esp. if they prevent getting a full view of the car, they can be hazardous if they get loose and, as it was pointed out, very few people bother to read much of what's on them, if at all anyway. But it's still nice to give some basic information as to what exactly it is that you're showing for the truly interested folks. |

...and the sign said, long haired, creepy people...do not apply!!!
I (we) like to mention on signs here in Texas that our Mustangs and the display of the vehicle meets all laws and statutes of the Texas Penal Code and Texas Government Code and the authorization to restore the Mustang was authorized by the Director of the Texas DPS.
This cuts down on lots of smart-ass comments and unnecessary questions about the car. Of course, there is still the big dummy that is too lazy to read the sign and goes right to asking the questions. I had a guy walk by my car one time and give me a go-to-hell look and said: "I see what MY tax dollars are going to!!!" And yet, not a penny of his tax money went into my car!!! All because he didn't read the sign.
