Default 1986 New to me TX DPS coupe

I thought I'd start a new thread on my most recent acquisition, another '86 DPS coupe. I've been after this car since 2007, when I missed it by just a couple of days. I knew roughly where it was but never could track it down. Fast forward to just a week ago, when I posted a wanted ad on an obscure facebook group and the owner contacted me. Sure enough, the same car I had tried to buy in 2007.

It doesn't look like much at the moment, but what's neat is that all of the SSP specific items are still intact (speedo, buck tags), and that it was built only 7 units after my previous one that was fully restored (***990 was my old one, this one is ***997). Same blue interior as my old one.

Excited to own the car, I'll be taking this one back to full black instead of the two-tone, just so whoever buys it next can easily enjoy it.

Chris, congrats on the new purchase! That should come out nicely once you are done with it. Please keep us posted.

Any other pics?

Why all black this time around as opposed to the two tone?

I don't have any other pictures right now, in fact it's still on the trailer.

I'll go back all black just to make sure it's easy enough to find a steward for it when I inevitably sell it. The black/white car I did previously really had a limited market, and even for me, it was something I couldn't drive on the street. If I paint it black, it will still be true to form and easy enough for someone to mark up for service, but not so authentic that it can't be enjoyed.

Thanks Jim! I've owned quite a few, and miss the Texas car the most. I appreciate the kind words!

Quick update here, this project just got a big boost. Scored an '86 coupe with perfect bumpers, and the correct interior for the car in nice shape. Sadly, the coupe has no title (wrecking lien) and a rod knock... but it will be helping save the TX DPS car, and the shell will likely do 1/4 mile duty for a friend afterwards.
