1988 Georgia State Trooper Coupe SSP Foxbody Mustang fox body - $6950 (Statesville)

Georgia State Trooper SSP coupe Mustang 1988. 141,000 on body and all it really needs is a good paintjob. These cars are sooo hard to find and when you do, its very expensive to purchase em. This is from a local find and i had all intentions of getting it painted and enjoy it for a while, but i need the money for other matters. The car is super strong with the 5.0 302 with solid lifters, bigger cam,GT 40 heads, Stock short throw headers, and a T5 put in it instead of the stock auto. The engine from what im told was gone through recently, and i can tell ya its runs super and burns no oil. Has a Steeda short throw shifter and clutch, with a 3.73 gear and 8.8 posi trac rearend. All tires are close to new with a full size spare as well all on 5 phone dial stock wheels. The Blue cloth interior is in pretty good shape except a tear in the drivers seat left side. Everything works as it should Air, elec windows, radio, wipers etc. ...just needs to be painted, tagged and driven. It does need the Ebrake fixed as well, it doesnt engage. The body is straight and pretty much done in prepping for paint,..(sanding spots are the grey in pics). All of the front and back window moldings are in trunk with new clips, The top had 4 holes where the Trooper lights were secured but filled now. The SSP (Special Service Package) car has several options over the fox sedan 5.0 made especially for the SSP Package and Highway Patrol vehicles. Speedometer has 140 instead of 120 stock,..... the 89 foxbody troopers went to 160. The floor and all underbelly is double layered for rigidness in high pursuits and crashes, The trunk release is below the R side of the steering wheel instead of glovebox, due to needing equipment, guns from the trunk fast. The hoses are all blue silicon instead of the rubber which is standard, Factory headers, full size spare, and a beefed up suspension as well. This car has the 2 Numbered Buck tags on front of frame(see pics) and is researched as a real Georgia Trooper car. U can look it up. The title is salvaged due to minor accident when it was in use for Georgia. Front end damage and repaired nicely but could no longer be in use for the State. Drives and steers great. I have already bought for this car, new weatherstripping for both doors and trunk, high performance front and rear struts and shocks installed, new back window molding clips. lowering springs installed, H pipe, oil change and full tuneup. Has replacement trunklid and hood.(original trunk lid goes with car). This thing is a beast and has sooo much power, lots of fun for the right person. Hate to see her go for sure. Get this more rare daily Trooper Mustang while you can. U can make this a replica trooper with all the lights computer the whole nine. Just have to ride around with a small sign in window reading ,...."Not IN Service" Thanx and Its still for Sale! Here the link to SSP site showing info on and the Trooper who drove it and when it was wrecked.

I love it when a CL/ebay seller uses our VIN Project as support for their SSP's heritage.

It's not really surprising, the VIN Project has become the "Definative source" for SSP's...

I bought this car and I now have it at my shop in South Texas where it is going through a complete restoration. I can't wait to get it finished and back on the street.

I realize that you joined up a while ago, but your first post was nice to read. So many times these cars fall off the radar under new ownership. Congrats on the new purchase and good luck with your resto! Please keep us posted on your progress (we have a Members' SSP section for individual car threads).
