Default FHP Rear Radar Mount Question

So according to the Lt. who drove FHP1395 in service she had front a rear mounted MPH BEE K-55 antennas for the radar unit. I believe I have found the holes in the rear deck for the rear antenna, but I wanted to see if they matched up with any other FHP SSP.

Also I wanted to know if anyone knows how they were mounted. Were they mounted using a MPH mounting bracket or something made in house? You can see where the deck lights were mounted by the holes and where the bracket laid across the the deck. But the two holes that I believe are from the rear antenna just have the holes, not any trace of bracket impression.

Here is a photo of 1395 to show what I am talking about. The deck light impression is hard to see, but if you stare at it you can see the outline.

Also here is a pic of the front radar unit. This is from one of the crash photos...I just zoomed in a little bit.

That's an MPH K-55 (not BEE).

There's an in-service pic of your car in the FHP section on this site. It doesn't have one in that pic.

If you look through the rest of the in-service pics, you won't see any rear antennas in any of the other pics. I don't think they were all that common.

It appears before the photos at the body shop the radar was removed. If you look at all the photos (from the body shop) the front antenna is gone too. I am guessing it was removed to put in another car while this one was OOS.

Here are a couple more of the front where it appears the front antenna has been removed.

Vs. this photo from the crash.

Mike what type of rear deck lights do you think this car had? I am thinking it was the Federal style, but you have probably seen the difference in mounting brackets and might know for sure by that top photo or one of the inservice photos.

I'm sure the Trooper probably grabbed it to put in whatever he/she would be driving.

Yeah, that is what I was guessing too. We did the same thing at the first department I worked for. Two radar units for 8 cruisers was a PIA.

After looking over the additional photos, I am pretty sure 1395 had Federals.

If anybody has a set I would be interested in them if you are willing to sell them. I have some Dashmasters already, so they will have to do until I can find the Federals.

Also note that 1395 did not have the FHP seal on the trunk.

I missed your post. They are definitely the Federals.

Yeah, once I looked at the above photo I had I could see much better than the ones loaded on the computer.

Figures I would have the hard ones to find. When it comes time I may just get a new deck tray and install the Dashmasters I already have. Then once...if ever...I locate some Federals I can reuse the original tray.

Thanks
