Default Wheel Opinions on the Winslow SSP?

Ok, most know that I am selling my Winslow car and I plan to have the stock rims refinished, but I was wondering the consensus of having them painted/powdercoated black versus a refinish. Post up your ideas or pros/cons whatever.

Default Wheels

I just had a set of 10 holes powdercoated satin black and installed them on my SSP. I can honestly say I like the look much better than the "natural" finish I removed. I did keep the originals in case I ever change my mind. FYI, I paid $50 per wheel cash.

Cheaper to have them powdercoated, and they do look really nice.

I think the black wheels look the best on SSPs and it's too bad that Ford didn't offer them for the whole model run out to '93. If they had, you'd be technically correct with either choice. Still, going with black wheels on a '93 will only be noticed by SSP enthusiasts and probably nobody else so if you're OK with that, then go for it.

+1 here but another option is to get a second set of wheels and paint them satin black. I have an extra set already in black. PM me if you are interrested.

Black just looks correct on any police vehicle. I've got a set to powder coat for my 83, even though they are not period correct, it just looks cool.

Well, I went with the powder coated look. When I sell it, if someone has to have the natural finish wheels, I can swap the ones off of my other SSP. The black ones look sharp. Thanks for the input gents.
