Default which computer??

I pulled the ECM out of my ssp last weekend and found out it is from a taurus / sable 3.8L. ????? Would the car even run with that computer?
I have an A9L and a A9P computer which one would work?

I remember back in 1990 when I bought my first late model Mustang, an 87 LX 5.0, and it quit running one day. I pulled the ECM out and it said the same thing, Taurus/Sable only. As far as I know it's still in the car. Ran great. Doug

If your car is a 5 speed either will work. If your car is an AOD only the A9P will work. (But to be 100% correct the A9L is for 5 speed cars.)
