Would it be safe to say the above vin is a Florida Highway Patrol?

Below is a section I found in the vin project.

I saw that car on eBay too. It is most likely a FHP, given the property sticker in the photo and the car's color scheme. You could ask the seller to send you a photo of the VIN label or Buck tags. The DSO is likely 24-0498.

Thanks! I talked with the seller earlier today. He is not familiar with Buck tags, but said he will look for them for me. I am to contact him again tomorrow for some additional photos too. I will have him include one of the VIN label.

Do you see any concerns in the listing or pictures? Otherwise this is exactly what I've been looking for. Thanks!

Here's the car in question on eBay -

http://www.ebay.com/itm/ssp-/1916553...p2054897.l4275

I haven't taken a real critical view of the car (some guys are great about noticing little details/flaws in f/s ads), but it looks pretty nice. You can tell it had a recent repaint because of the untouched fender edges under the hood (the doorjams too). It will need tires if you intend to drive the car, but those Eagles may be of interest to anyone looking for tires for their correctly restored show car.

Default Please Read if you are thinking about bidding!!!

Wow just ran a AutoCheck on this car and it says in 2005 the car had 162,000 miles. The seller has it reported as having "low mileage" 118,000.

Also the seller says it has "no hit body". The report says the car was in 2 accidents.

I guess the $11.00 I spent is well worth it!

Researching a major purchase is very important. Glad you have that info up front.

I purchased this car Saturday. Let me start by saying I am NOT an SSP expert but I do own 4 fox bodies and have owned over 70 fox bodies over the past 20+ years so I have seen these cars range from new on the lot to complete basket cases.

I suspect that the auto check information may not be accurate for this car. The interior, engine bay, and undercarriage of the car are VERY clean. Cleaner than one of my 78k mile coupes. Any collisions the car has had in the past were very minor. It has all VIN tags in place except the rear decklid and rear bumper cover. Looking under the rear of the car, there's no mangled metal or anything like that. The original rear bumper is still under there with just a small dent in it. Even if the auto check info is correct, it's no biggie to me. The car is in very good condition with many cool ssp original pieces, plus it's a LoJack car....bonus.

Regardless of whether or not auto check is correct, I haven't seen many coupe bodies this decent lately.....much less an ssp that was typically used very hard in service.

I'm elated with the car and glad you passed on it.......I'm from fla originally and have wanted an 89 ssp since..........well, 1989.

Congrats on your new SSP. 'Happy to hear you're happy with it. Please keep us posted on the car.

Thanks! I certainly will.
After connecting with a couple members on here, it is possible that this car is the LoJack car pictured from "real stories"......not FHP 432, but rather, the other one with the roof number on it, driven by Trooper Alberto Hidalgo. Either that, or there were more than 2 LoJack cars in florida and mine is a third one that has been located. I'm actively researching the car and can use any help or pointers to obtaining more history...

Thanks!
