I am not a Patch collector but i had to go anyway because i was told that Parts and
equipment may be for sale! as it turned out it was primarily a patch swap n collector
show so i bought some CHP shirt patches.only a few cars in the lot?

I did find allot of my friends down at the show and didn't realize that they had an
interest in this?

this is Mike Keller .....Mike is one of the show promoters and a Police car collector
that lives in phoenix. his business is http://www.scalepatrolcars.com

i have more pict and will post later this week.

I know Keller was not happy with the turnout. He was telling me that he had tables
sold but the vendors were a no show? He also told me that the Phoenix area has a
large number of police car collectors....... why the locals are not involved?

Anyone know the difference in these two patches?
the one on the left is slightly larger and has better detail
I bought a few of each. Any ideas?

Mike needs to promote that show better IMO. He posted the info on another site months ago and never reminded anyone or sent out a follow up e-mail to the masses. There are indeed several of us collectors and buffs in the valley. However there were also several fund raisers and events going on this weekend to compete.

What I do not understand is the fact that tables were pre paid and the vendors did
not show? it's not like the nod or phone call that say's i am I man of my word I will
be at the event save me a table? these were sent in and paid in advance? In Idaho
we work as a team to put on a great Mustang/ Ford / collector car show. everyone
does something and everything is done! It's your job to do it if you volunteer. and a
finger is never pointed. The first person to say Why don't you do this or that are
assigned the task of doing what ever they thought someone else should do! and
suddenly it's not their Job.
This site is a good example. I had asked Mike if i could write a story with Pictures
and he said GO FOR IT! I know that these cars this hobby and this site depends on
the input and participation of all that visit here. I had no idea what i would find at the
show. I attended......... took some pictures and wrote a story. as I said I would do.
other's contribute here also and I appreciate it!.. we are all here to help the other guy
with an exchange of information and reports! pay it forward ......it always comes
back! be a part of the solution ..........also just had to have this patch!

I've been slammed and just not had any time to spend on the computer much. Just finished a 2 day photo shoot on 3 of our cars to be featured in one of the Mustang magazines and I'm dead tired. Then tomorrow I head to Florida for the Gulf Coast Regional Mustang show...maybe I'll get to relax there.

Well Charles,
I think you should get your information straight before you let go with your opinions. But before we start, Did you attend this show? If you did, you not introduce yourself to me. I know you did not bring a restored or in service vehicle to display.
In any case, back to your post. I do not do the promotion or advertising for the show. That is done by the other co-host, Deputy Lucas. It is his event. The show was advertised extensively. A few examples: PC News for a year, Phoenix Republic “Things to do” for six months, flyers were delivered to EVERY police department in the area, (Tucson to Flagstaff) two times. The various departments were also sent notices via inter-agency media. We had flyers at the major auto events in the valley for the last year, this includes Ford, Chevy and Mopar shows along with open marquee events such as the AAHC. Flyers were also at the Fire Muster and numerous cruise nights and benefit car shows. It was also listed on a number of web sites, many of which have a calendar of events. The best suggestion you make is to send out emails to the “masses” so that they can be reminded. Where is this list of people that might be interested in the show? What criteria should I use?
As to your last statement that there was a lot to do that weekend. We know. It was not the weekend we wanted or the one the show has been held on in the past. The venue is booked a year in advance and we live with what we are given. Next year we hope to have it moved up a couple of weeks.
In closing, if you would like to help with the show you would be more than welcome. There are several public safety and auto events this next couple of weeks. We will have a car or two at a couple of them. Bring out one of you cars, park along side and we can enjoy the Valley of the Sun. Deputy Lucas plans to have a car or two out also and I know he is always open for input on his show.

Regards,
Mike
