Talking In-service pics...

I've been on the hunt for inservice pictures of 81 era Reno PD Gran Fury's since my dad and I have two. I've claimed one already, and before we got these

Darryl Lindsey, the cop car photo guy, sent me these two of an 81.

Found a few distinguishable imperfections in the second photo

Went and looked at "my" Gran Fury, and to my surprise...

May not be one of the rarest or most desireable cop cars out there, but I think it's a really neat car. How many other Reno PD Gran Fury's could be out there? Less than 10 would probably be safe to say. We'll be restoring this one back to inservice condition (and probably the other). I really like the basic-ness of the car. Gun rack, door decals, trunk decals, lightbar, and two spotlights. On the hunt for a complete UHF Micor radio setup and Federal Signal PA 1000 or 2010 siren/controls. Not to mention I need to find out what exact model the lightbar is and find one

in the second and third photos you can clearly see a dark blue 4 eyed mustang and a Chevelle. Those are some cool cars !!

Sam, that's pretty cool that you rec'd some in-service pictures of your car.

...and good eyes Jim! I didn't notice the cool cars in the background.

Yeah, pretty neat cars in the background. The mustang looks to be an 85 or 86. Regardless it was a brand new car

I posted on Reno PDs facebook page and sent them an email asking if they had any other pictures or info. Who ever checks in on the facebook said that they will do some digging and let me know in the next couple days

If the building in the background is still around, I'll probably replicat the photos when I take the car down to Reno when it's done.
