Default Unmarked SSP antenna

This is the antenna that is currently installed in my pa unmarked ssp.
it was there years ago when i owned the car the first time around.

My am/fm runs off of it and it has the provision to run a cable back to the trunked motorola. that wire is connected but cut.

i am stumped what the big thick wire is thats cut in the door jam and what its for.

any ideas and anyone seen this brand before?

That's made by Antenna Specialists and is very similiar to the Sti-co brand splitter/coupler.

i guess its job is to run the trunked motorola radio thu the fender antenna?
any idea on what the cut big wire is?

the car also had some sort of lip mount antenna on the trunk pass side towards front.....the outline of it (triangle) was burned into the bad paint...

perks of being a former owner prior to resto that i remember this stuff.

Correct. Here is another one on eBay (a little different than yours).

You will have to find out from someone like litsnsiren exactly what each wire does. I'm not a radio guy.

I'd think one wire would go to the AM/FM radio, one to the VHF radio, and the other two back to each antenna, but that would make 4, right?

only antennas on the car where my front fender and one on the trunk lid side.

Not sure what was suppossed to run what etc?
I thought with this splitter i would not need an external antenna..

Right...AM/FM runs both the good-time radio and the work radio. I was thinking about the second antenna you mentioned when I posted, but that would have to mean an additional radio in the car to make 4 (and makes no sense, my bad).

That's why I try to stay away from radio stuff. A man has to know his limitations.
