Default Dash Cap Story n pictures

This is the best bang for the Buck (almost 100)
that i have gotten from anything i have done to
my car. I had replaced the carpet and re did
the headliner.....seats were ok.... usable...a few cigarette
burns and coffee stains but usable... gives it (character)
but the one thing that always annoyed me is the Dash Mat
carpet overlay on the dash. you know it's just not right
you know that a city/state/ vehicle never had a Dash Mat!
also
you know that under that carpet cover on the dash is a world
that is like that of the lamisil monsters that live in toe nails

look at the dash picture wo/the carpet. God only knows
what was living in those holes in the dash

but i covered them up! yep car now has a Dash Cap and it
Looks like a NEW DASH fit and finish is perfect.
after i installed the Dash Cap i drove the car around a bit I was
amazed at new dash appearance.
It was like driving a new car.although you look out the windshield
the perfect dash is in your field of vision and after awhile you can't
hear the lamisil monsters anymore.
this is After

I have seen the ads for the 'dash cap" and wondered how they would look compared to replacing the entire pad. I have to say that from the picture I cannot see any difference between the cap and a new pad. Very nice indeed.

I was also curious about what it would look like
and had only seen the advertisements for this product
the only part of the process that was time consuming
was removing the Left spot handle to slip that side over
the pad. Also this is the color gray it comes in so all i did
was install it! You will have to fit it over the pad a few times
to look for high spots where the dash splits have raised up
use a single edge razor blade to shave it off
you know .....check twice (three times) install one time!
it covers the old dash completely and rolls back into the
outer edge so you see none of the old dash. the only way
you would know it's hard plastic is by tapping on it. i have
done this also just to annoy the lamisil monster that may
be lurking underneath?
Here is the link to who i bought this from. He is in Phoenix and
does Internet only sales but i was able to buy one cash n carry.

Andy,

That looks fantastic! Nice seeing your installed CHP equipment. Is that the smurf gun that you painted?

see sometimes i do post useful things here
I have been also working on a F150 stepside truck and will be getting a Dash Cap
for it also. Somehow I just can't stop looking at it! really makes a Difference.
Some would say that you should have
replaced the Dash. but from what i was told the Replacement dash does not fit correctly.
I don't know? But at this time i Can say......If you can't tell the difference. Why pay the difference?
here are a few more Pict.
