small strap of flat stainless with a piece of phenolic material to capture the tip of the whip. I think Mike has a picture of it in the resto doc.

Andy I will be re-doing my map pocket in the next few days. If you give me the color to yours I will try to have it done for you.

Yesterday when i drove over to the other side of town to pick up the
map light i stopped into a salvage yard to look for the pocket AND for
the FIRST TIME i actually seen the correct pocket i need on a newly
arrived 84 Mustang... but it was Red and i am sure that they would want
to sell the complete door panel and not just the pocket! Last winter in
Phx.I
picked up a map pocket from a late car but didn't realize that their
are two different sizes the late being larger! at this time i think i
will fabricate something that looks similar to get me by. I do
appreciate your help! If anyone has the correct measurements for the
early car OR would like to trade an early for a late (gray) pocket that
would also work.
