Got a little work done today by "de-modding" the car a bit. Trying to take as much advantage as this unseasonable weather we have been having in Nebraska lately! Ditched the "C&L" Inlet pipe/mass air meter and "K&N" open filter's on the cold air intake and breather. Installed a stock mass air meter, air box/tube, oil filler cap, distributor cover, and fan shroud as it was missing one when I got the car. As you can imagine the car runs/drives night and day difference for the BETTER from before with the stock stuff re-installed. I still need to install.. -Ignition coil cover -Replace the coolant over flow tank cap -Remove the "BBK" headers install stock ones -Install a "Motorcraft" battery - Clean up the engine compartment. |

Absolutely agree!
Been really busy digging into the car more and fixing some stuff lately Got the BBK headers removed Got the antenna cleaned up and installed Got those whatever style of non factory 5.0 badges removed and was intending on putting the original style ones back on, but had these "Black" original style ones laying around and decided to go with them as I believe the will compliment the soon to be black powder coated stock wheels Also removed the front splash shields to see how everything looked and found these numbers on the body Driver side Passenger side Also was in the middle of replacing the noisy "throw out" bearing and was very pleased to see how unbelievably clean rust wise this car is underneath for it having 172,xxx miles and a Utah car all its life! Here in Nebraska we are used to cars rusting a soon as they leave the lot But this hope to be $15 throw bearing replacement turned into a $200 dollar part job...here are some findings Transmission dropped. It was very difficult to get the transmission out once I had it unbolted from the bell housing as the bearing had unfortunately eaten into the transmission bearing retainer sleeve Also the little clip/fork that clips on to the pivot ball was bent Surprised that the speedometer still worked And my last finding as the starter cable looks like something had gotten to it and one of the wires was just lying exposed against the body Time to get some new parts coming and hopefully more work done! |

New 6piece headlights and front bumper cover back on!
Parts for the transmission should be here Wednesday! Then I will put the license plate bracket and new all white hood on as soon as I get the transmission back in the car! |
