Default Are Washington State SSP cars salvaged???

Does anyone know if all SSP CARS that came from the state of washington get.salvaged? A guy in cali has an 87 ssp with salvaged washington title, he states all SSP cars were salvaged on selling. Is this true? Or is he trying to justify it being salvaged?

State wants money out of the cars when they sell them, I seriously doubt that they would do something that would affect the sale prices.

Now if it was wrecked internode and sold, it would have a salvage title.

No, it is not true. Most went to auction and will show prior police use on the title. It sounds like he is trying to sell you a unit that was hit hard and salvaged. I had a washington unit and it did not show salvaged. I would look very carefully at that car. You may find lots of prior damage that was fixed. Run an auto check to see the entire history, that will give you facts on the history not a seller’s statements. Good luck

As Don mentions - definitely NOT true.

I have owned 4 WA based SSPs over the years - and NONE had a salvage title from auction.

If it has a salvage title now - it was likely totaled for some reason or another. I saw an 87 locally that was hit in all four corners. One VIN # off my other 87. Sad to see, but doubtful anyone would bring it back given the work it would need (current day costs).

If you have more info on the 87, I can help you with general WA info. I still have my 87 SSP for notes.

Thanks guys, I kind of suspected it was not true. It looks awesome and he wants $4500 but a lot of work has been done to it. I think I will stay away though, I dont like the idea of salvage and much less when a seller is trying to justify it.
