Default In Service

I personally like an SSP that has the in-service "pedigree" with the proper equipment, lights, etc.

The car is beautiful though. If it does sell for around that $30K mark, I cannot hurt our values

the low mileage ssp cars are always desireable however it is super rare to find one that was actually in service as a patrol car. There are some unmarked government, postal cars etc out there but not many cars with low miles that were used by a police agency
Speaking of which, mine is up for sale again. Sorry, but to me, an SSP like the Silver one will likely be the most valuable ones down the line. Yes, pedigree is nice too but how can you compare an 150,000 rebuilt car to a new one.

you can't compare the two. one was an in service police car that was used for what it was intended and the new car is a car that someone is trying to claim value because it was a "South Carolina Highway Patrol car" which is untrue.

naturally a car with 8k miles will 100 percent of the time be worth more than one with 150k, however being worth more money doesn't automatically make it more desirable, or collectible. It is all based on personal opinion.

The vin number on my 43k mile (wrecked) 1993 SCHP car is way off the vin of the Jackie Jones car for sale. I am wondering what the DSO number is on the car. I emailed the seller and asked but he declined to send it to me.

1. my 1986 Idaho State Police car
2. Imevils 1983 Colorado State Police car
3. Bruce Howards 1992 Michigan State Police car
4. all 406 1982 California Highway Patrol cars (one of mine has 400k miles on it.)
5. a 1984 North Carolina Highway patrol car I found in a barn..... (seriously)
6. any other ssp that survived police service and has been saved/restored !

just joking of course.

remember guys the seller is a car dealer. He bought the car last year, paid to much (IMO), the novelty has worn off or the economy is forcing a sale, so here it is again for sale. This specific car has had five owners in two years?? I think that speaks volumes about its "desirability". He is trying to influence buyers with yippity yap about SCHP and the "7 wonders". For sure this car has a niche in the hobby but given the price the "serious buyer pool" will be limited.

Your absolutely right there!!! I never noticed that sales pitch, I was only looking at it as a new police package car. I could care less on who it was supposed to go to.

He needs to take it to Barrett Jackson.
