Talking Some pics of the current CHP resto

Thought I would share what I'm currently working on! Since the Mustangs and other cars I have need parts I don't have, I decided to do something I have everything for.

My dad bought this 97 Crown Vic from the CHP back around 03 with a dead motor. Other projects got priority over fixing this car so my dad covered it up.
It is still in excellent condition other than paint.
Already have almost all the correct equipment rounded up, custom lightbar needs some more parts like red and blue forward filters, and I still have to customize the S810 shell with micro buttons for the lighting modes.

Hopefully it will be finished for this years Ripon Show

Pushbar is going to get powdercoated

That's nice, Sam. Have you gotten the car running yet (i.e. fixed the "dead motor")?

Thanks guys! No Bill it isn't running yet. Have the front clip off the parts car, need to finish pulling that motor, then hopefully bring the CHP home from storage so I can pull it's motor and detail the engine bay.

It would probably take a weekend to swap the motors.

Sam, I recommend that you use a bunch of Ziplok baggies and a Sharpie to identify your fasteners as you disassemble the engine compartment. It will make it much easier to put back together. And take plenty of pictures before-hand. They make a great reference when you try to figure out where everything goes.

If I work on it myself I might do that. My dad has swapped atleast 15 motors in and out of crown vics over the years. Throw all the bolts in a pile and he knows what goes to what

Here's a couple pics of the lightbar. Have about 30 hours into this from painting, assembling, wiring, etc. Original CHP Vision frame with Vision smart pods, NOS pod bases, new domes, polished the reflectors, NOS aluminum pod frames for clear pods 3/5, and smart boards from Smart Vectors to run the functions! I even have a CHP antenna clip to be attached to the right lightbar foot
