Hello guys. I've been an SSP owner for 7 years and wanted to know how to share (and find out) information about my vehicle. I would appreciate any help. Thanks.

...forgot to add info (haven't had my coffee yet):
1989 Georgia SSP, DSO 21-0236, State Police, 1FABP40E6KF289902. I purchased the car from a private owner in NC several years ago. The car was already repainted blue and the original rims were not on the car when I purchased it. Basically a standard looking Mustang Coupe that you wouldn't know was an SSP unless you saw the buck tags and a few miscellaneous parts specific to SSPs. Beyond that, I do not know the history.

Norm, welcome to the forum!

Thank you for providing your VIN and DSO number. Your car has the same DSO number as some other SSPs that are identified as being from Hall County (which is located NE of Atlanta). Here are their pages in our VIN Project -

http://www.specialservicemustang.net...info289898.htm
http://www.specialservicemustang.net...info289900.htm
http://www.specialservicemustang.net...info289907.htm

I am no expert on the Hall County cars, so I hope someone else will chine in. The above cars are all listed as unconfirmed agency usage because no documentation has been published to confirm that they were used by that agency. I have a feeling that your car was not used by the GSP. We have a resident GSP expert, kapracing, who has a complete list of VINs used by the GSP. I will let him weigh in...

Please post up some photos when you can. We LOVE seeing pics of SSP Mustangs.

I have attachd pics of the car, part of the dash, and buck tags. I couldn't get a decent pic of the buck tags because they were folded in half so I had to remove them; each attached with a single phillips screw; not stapled. Door placard is not present on the car. Engine bay, door jambs and complete exterior was painted before I owned it. I didn't purchase the car because I thought it was an SSP and it wasn't sold to me with that info. So, I'm not sure if the owner knew it was an SSP or not. I purchased it because it was a nice looking and running coupe. Later I thought it may have been an SSP based upon some options that it had and the discovery of 2 buck tags.

1989 DSO 21-0235 were marked GSPs. Could 1989 DSO 21-0236 be unmarked GSPs?

GSP ordered 42 SSP's in 89... GSP did not use unmarked mustangs... GBI repainted a few decommissioned GSP's and used them however. The batch of 27 and batch of 17 are all 42 with two cars in those batches not GSP units.

Nice looking SSP. Looks to be one of the Hall county cars. It is not however a GSP. I do not have any info on anything but the 310 GSP SSP's so sorry I could not help with further info at this time. With as many Hall Co. cars turning up seems like I could find someone with info in the future...
