My 85 SSP had the CHP unit number written at the top of the driver's side window behind the door. Can you take a picture of yours and post it up?

It's a theft-deterrent etching deal. Probably done at a dealership along the way somewhere.

My apologies for bumping such an old thread, but I stumbled across this one when viewing who was online (a Bot had it pulled up). Just yesterday I saw on FEP that a Hertz SVO was listed for sale...

http://vb.foureyedpride.com/showthre...rtz-Rental-Car

In that thread it stated that Hertz would etch the glass and the wheels with the car's VIN. I wonder if Avis did the same sort of thing on their cars? This car is one of the Avis SSP Mustangs found in our VIN Project...

http://www.specialservicemustang.net...info158120.htm

...and the glass etching could be from its time with Avis Leasing.
