Yes, on those first-year SMPVs the CHP switched out the 6" black-headed spotlights for 5" ones, and painted them body color for a more stealthy appearance.

This one is the final SSP Mustang to roll through CHP Motor Transport -
I saw in my notes that the car's unit number is E881517 (is that right, MikeC?). If so, then we know the VIN of this car though our collective efforts in the VIN Project: http://www.specialservicemustang.net...info189095.htm Since adding it to the Project, this car was last smogged in October 2013. It's still on the road gentlemen, and may end up on Craigslist/eBay someday.

Here's the "fractured" version of that photo event that hangs at Motor Transport and commemorates all the physical sacrifice the staff made while equipping the Mustang fleet: BTW, the owner of the "Last Mustang" knows exactly what he has so if it ever shows up for sale don't expect any bargains. |

That's awesome, Michael! Now that you've confirmed its unit number, I will update the car's page in our VIN Project.

Great, I read the plate number off the large print that hangs at MT.
