"I have discovered it was retired June 30th, 1996 when the assigned Trooper was issued a new Caprice." To bad for the trooper to go from a fun car to a family car.
Nice car. |

Trooper John Donahoe's 93 SSP
Hi Mike, How are you?
Thanks for the pics, they're awesome ! Are they all Trooper Donahoe's cars? I was thinking of tracking down his family to ask if it would be ok to pay him tribute with my Uni. A nice memorial graphic in the back window or on the quarters. (See my thread titled Find A Grave. I didnt want to get off topic but it's worthwhile reading ) |

Sarge,
Things are great here in Nevada. I've finally found my dream car, a real 1969 NHP Dodge Polara. Its in terrible shape so it'll be awhile before its done. From the looks of it, those were all his cars. It appears he was getting a new car every few years. By the looks of the mid 90's Camaro, and his plate being attached to it, he probably didn't have a Caprice. I'd say that Camaro is a 94-96 model. If I can get the contact info again for Trp. Donahoe's friend, I'll try to pass it on to you for follow up. Mike |

The reason I thought Trp Donahoe had a Caprice is because back about two years ago a restored 96 NHP Caprice was sold on eBay out of California and they identified it as unit 365. Now that I think about it, perhaps only the plate number being their badge stayed with the trooper not necessarily the unit number. is this true? Looking forward to that number when you find it, Thanks. |

The License Plates are the same as our badge numbers. They assign us a set of plates that go on each car we're assigned to. Since we have take home cars, we only take them off if we are reassigned a car.
Here's my Polara, it's terrible and will need a parts car to restore but when the state only bought a couple dozen cars a year, they are pretty rare. Not to mention its a 1969 Polara. This is the day I loaded it up. Mike |

Interesting info about the plates/badge numbers. I have an NHP plate in my collection. It's #348 so it's neat to know that was a Trooper's badge number!
