That is quite true! Especially since there are vintage photos of the car.

So I learned something about how the DSO numbers were assigned. It's fun to learn new things about these cars.

I have also learned something new about special order numbers. I thought they were cumulative independent of office. Did not know there could be same special order number in different offices.
Now I need to change the buck tag decoder. |

All fixed. Instead of saying "nnnnnn = _______ district sales office (nn), 19nn special order #nnnn" it will now say "nnnnnn = _______ district sales office (nn), 19nn _______ DSO special order #nnnn".

I love it when new information surfaces, even if it is only new to us (if you know what I mean).
It would make sense that the order numbers from different DSOs would similarly increase in number as the model year progressed. And given the range of orders I could see why we would not have picked up on this on our own. Kevin was very kind in his emails, given that this tidbit of information was probably something he would consider to be common knowledge. Cool stuff!

Great stuff....I've never seen it before, either.
http://www.specialservicemustang.net/DSO.html I got that from a Ford manual, but it doesn't mention the order sequence at all. Learn something new every day!

Recently picked up an original '85 UHP SSP. It came with the attached documentation I wanted to share for the VIN project.
