Michael, it's a blast but it's a new type of blast for me. I've had a few different patrol car restorations and this one is unique to me. First of it's kind for me since we didn't use them back in Ohio. It's very cool!

Dash pad!
Have you checked out Just Dashes, in Van Nuys, CA?
Read several articles in car magazines saying they do great restoration work! I don;t know the cost, but might be worth the call? Bruce |

Chris, Still working the mechanical issues right now. After doing the shakedown cruise earlier in the summer I found issues with it and I'm still working on those. Work has taken a priority for now so my time on this car is limited for the time being. I may actually be able to send this to paint sometime in the spring unless there will be room sooner at the technical college that has helped with the painting duties on my other restorations.
As for the dash, Just Dashes is very expensive ($800 for a restoration typically) and a replacement dash pad unit costs about $200.00 or less so I guess I have my answer there as to what I'm going to do. I need to get back after this car... maybe I should take some time off and work on it (not even going to happen until November actually). |

I definitely understand work taking over, Greg. Hopefully the college will be able to take on the project fairly soon, can't wait to see that one back in paint!

Well had some time to run the ISP Mustang over this past week and was starting to get some valve clatter after it warmed up and coming off of a high idle. I'll have to recheck it but I thought I had put the right oil into it. I also still have a leak of some sort off and on around the power steering pump so I guess that will have to be addressed before heading into the paint booth. The 78 LTD is closer to being ready for the paint booth so it will probably be first in.

I can imagine that those wheel/tire storage fees are starting to add up to.
