Re-Introduction
Hello all. I’ve been a member of this forum for some time but I didn’t have a SSP so I had nothing to contribute. I’m happy to say that has changed. I traded a 1998 Ford P71 for a 1985 SSP. It is Texas unit M5-637, VIN 204970. I’ve been able to follow the unit history fortunately. I don’t know where in Texas it was used when it was owned by the state but after there it went to Bastrop County Texas. It was used as a patrol vehicle until sold to the deputy that had been driving it. It stayed in Bastrop County as it became a more and more modified Beat the Heat car. The same deputy brought with him to Maricopa Count AZ and it changed to MCSO livery. He then sold it to another deputy, it then sat in the county garage for a number of years coming out on rare occasions for car shows, etc.. That’s how it came to be mine. I had planned on putting in back to MCSO markings after the restoration but the family decided it really should go back to its Texas DPS markings. I’m sure I will have many questions as time goes by, mainly about the Texas specific interior items. Thanks. Mike
